It’s Episode 34 of Magic Markets – Riots and Rands

It’s a hard week if you live in South Africa. While the rest of the world keeps spinning on its axis, South Africa’s axis has broken.

This week the Finance Ghost and I have a heartfelt conversation of what’s happening right on the ground in the most massive unrest the country has seen since democracy. Imagery is akin to a war zone. Is this all political or are there truly deeper issues at play?

We try, as always, to scratch beneath the surface and unpack the issues. We also discuss what optionality looks like for South African’s in uncertain times and how this plays into rebuilding a country and how and if this is possible.

For supplement reading, also check out my most recent write up on this: Aluta Continua…or a Looter Continua.

If you’re South African, we thank you and send strength, thoughts and prayers. If you’re not, keep South Africa and her people in your thoughts and prayers.

This episode is hard hitting but also an eye opener… check it out.
